Born in Taiwan and raised in New York, Allan spent his childhood performing in recitals as a classical pianist and graduated from Manhattan School of Music before transitioning to filmmaking. His feature screenplay, A NEW BEGINNING, is a Semifinalist in the ‘20 Academy Nicholls Fellowships.
Allan’s short films have screened at festivals around the world, including the Milan International Film Festival, Beijing International Film Festival and New York Shorts International Film Festival and have received awards in the categories of Best Film, Cinematography and Producing.
While in school at NYU Tisch, he wrote and produced a segment for Howard University’s WHUT-TV that was submitted for a daytime Emmy nomination. He was also a recipient of NYU’s Wasserman Award in producing for his short film, GHOST SOLDIER. His clients in commercial include Amgen, Dior, Google, Loreal, Macy’s, Microsoft, Pfizer, ABC and NBC television. Allan’s goal as a filmmaker is to inspire more joy, empathy, and a stronger sense of human connection in the world through the stories he tell.
